Ergonomics

With a drop of 133 mm and a reach of 83 mm, our Compact roadbars are slightly larger than our Evo models in order to achieve a greater difference in posture in the different grip positions. The design of the top bar makes it possible to mount the brake levers in such a way that they merge perfectly with the roadbars.
The cross-section of the top bar is designed for extreme stiffness and low weight. In addition, the lightweight carbon handlebars have recessed cable grooves on the underside for those who do not want to route the cables in the roadbars.

Construction

Like all our products in the TLO series, our lightweight full carbon roadbarsbars are hand-wound (about carbon) from the best prepregs available on the market to suit your weight and riding style. The layer structure, which has been further refined over 30 years of production experience, with up to 17 layers in the heavily loaded centre section and only 5 layers in the less stressed lower curve, enables the incredible weights despite the well-known stiffness and legendary indestructibility.

Ordering information

Please note that we measure our carbon roadbars from the outside to the outside. Our roadbars are not designed for use with triathlon or time trial handlebars as standard. If you would like to use your lightweight carbon handlebars with aero handlebars, please let us know when ordering. The necessary reinforcement increases the weight of the carbon handlebars by around 7 g. All our drop bars can be shortened by 10 mm at their ends. Commercial customers are usually supplied with standard handlebars, i.e. without time trial handlebar reinforcement. These thin-walled carbon handlebars can be supplemented with our customised carbon brake levers and carbon bar plugs.

Surface options

All our lightweight carbon roadbars are unpainted to avoid adding unnecessary weight. Above all, the epoxy surface is much more resistant than any paint finish. It is therefore not scratched as quickly. All our lightweight carbon drop handlebars come in the current matt look. TLO drop bars can be ordered in 1k weave or UD. 1k is the classic carbon look with (biaxially) crossed fibres. With UD (unidirectional), all carbon fibres run in one direction. This gives the surface a uniform black, almost painted look. In general, UD carbon parts are a few grams heavier than 1K carbon parts. Learn more about UD and 1k here

Colour options

To create the perfect look on your bike, all TLO carbon roadbars are available in 3 different logo colours: Schmolke Edition (red / white), Black Edition and White Edition.
