Just like the Oversize model, the new FullOver has a larger cross sectional profile reaching from the bar mounting to the mid section of the bar, resulting in a perceptible increase in stiffness. In addition the drop section of the bar is tapered down only to a diameter of 27,5 mm instead of the usual 24 mm. The Advantages are obvious – the larger diameter increases the stiffness of the handlebar’s drop section even further. Especially for riders with larger hands another convincing benefit is the much more pleasant grip sensation in the dropped position.
The construction of the bar’s top section allows the brake levers to be mounted in a way that the levers and the handlebar merge perfectly. This special top section construction makes the levers point more upwards, resulting in a higher comfort when riding in the lever position.
The additional weight of 5 g in comparison to the other SL bars is being more than compensated due to the special carbon bindings for the shifters. The weight advantage of theses bindings is 18 g and is included in delivery.
The drop of the bar is 138 mm, its reach measures 95 mm. The FullOver has integrated cable grooves for proper cable housing installment.
For these thin walled handlebars we offer our custom made oversize carbon bar plugs.
For now the FullOver will be manufactured only in 46 cm width (measured outside).
All Schmolke Carbon seatposts and handlebars are unpainted to avoid unnecessary weight.
Please keep in mind that we measure our road bars from outside to outside. Our standard handlebars are not made to be used with triathlon or time trial bars. If you want to use one of our bars with aero bars, please inform us when placing your order. The necessary strengthening will add some 8 g to the bar’s weight (for more information see special handlebars).
If desired, we can also custom fit your bar with longer ends. All our bars may be shortened at their ends by 10 mm. Trade customers, as a rule, are supplied with standard bars, that’s no time trial bar reinforcement and short bar ends.
